Dinosaur Party | Ezra's 3rd Birthday!

Thursday, November 09, 2017

On September 29th, Ezra turned 3! After having a rough September, I still wanted to make sure my baby boy was celebrated in a big way. We decided to have only immediate family over for his birthday, but that still means nine kids. So when September 30th rolled around and we planned to have his party the next day, I was so disappointed that he was sick with a stomach virus. We also had a mix up with some of the party supplies and decor, so we wound up postponing it a week and celebrating him all week plus on the big day the next weekend. We are so grateful for all of our family being able to make it to his party, rolling with the punches with us and showing him how special he really is! After all, he is the baby on both sides and is treated as such!

We partnered with Oriental Trading again for some of the supplies and favors. Check them out here

I took lots of inspiration from around the web and Pinterest, of course, to create a party filled with Ezra's favorite things and something for everyone. I typically like to make the boy's birthday cakes, it's become kind of a tradition, but I'm no baker so that's become a little more difficult over the years. This year, I decided I would create the "huge dino birthday cake" Ezra requested by buying a premade bakery (Kroger) cake and adding the dino touches! I actually really love how it turned out! I bought a cookies and cream cake and added some globs of chocolate icing to the top and lots of broken candy, Oreos, pirouettes and some plastic dinos and artificial succulents.

We loved our cookies as usual from Cuppycakes and Cookies by Josie. They tasted great even after they were frozen for a week. . . then for the week after that when I munched on the few left overs.

Last year at his Paw Patrol party, the masks and capes were such a big hit, I had to get these Dino masks.

Since we are minus a dining room table right now, I set the dining room with kid's tables and a play area for them to enjoy and it was a big hit!

We had food from all the Dinosaur categories. You know carnivore, herbivores, omnivores and of course the sweetivores...

The boy had such a great time surrounded by the people that love him the most and so did all of the people that love him the most!

Thanks for partying with us!
