Kindergarten is exhausting! I mean... having to have Jonah at school so early is contributing to me losing my mind! I am such a night owl. I get editing and writing done at night a lot of the time because I use my work days to take photos, return emails, plan sessions and projects and DO projects, but right now it's all a struggle because my brain is just not firing all cylinders. The first part of the week, I feel like I'm running on empty and by the time the weekend rolls around I have a thousand things I want to do and then here I am again on Monday and Tuesday draaaggging.


I'm trying though. I will get the hang of this routine. Ezra's starting MMO this week and that will help with setting our schedule and keeping our days consistent. I am also working on doing things that will fill my tank, my cup, help me get from point a to b with a little left in my tank for evenings with the kids and days off. I need rest but I need more than that, I need to take care of me before I can take care of anyone else! Now, even though I'm sure your cup is like mine and filled with coffee, we need to fill it with a little more.


1. I am working on making sure I get breakfast along with my coffee early in the mornings. This isn't something that I do easily because I don't get hungry first thing, BUT I do start to feel bad after a whole cup of coffee and no breakfast yet. So, I will usually grab a breakfast bar or piece of toast before we head out the door (at 6:45 Lord help me).


2. Staying hydrated! Water, Water and Water. I am the worst, so I have been trying to fill both of my water bottles up and putting them in the fridge. So, when I go to grab something they are staring at me!

3. Making sure I'm getting enough protein! This is a lesson I have to teach myself over and over. Lay off the carbs! I mean I know some carbs are good for you but without the balance of enough protein, my energy will not be lasting! I like to stick them in the freezer for a few minutes before I head out the door so they are VERY cold! It's such a treat.

4. Filling my soul. Spirituality plays a huge part in my life! Music, Books, and meditation that focus on my personal spiritual growth should probably be at the top of this list! I have just finished reading Of Mess and Moxie by Jen Hatmaker and downloaded a few new (to me) albums to keep us on beat during that morning drive. 


5. Taking time to step outside just to take a breather! We all need a little more vitamin D on busy days. If we are in the car, we roll the windows down and just drive. If I'm home working alone, taking a few minutes to step out on the patio fills up my cup a little bit before I head back into the office. This is something I truly missed while working outside of the home full time. The sunshine and not even knowing what the weather was like in the middle of the day! We need God's beautiful earth to lift our souls and clear our lungs and minds! Go outside today and fill your cup!
