Tuesday, May 23, 2017

This giveaway is a partnership with Nakturnal.

We are so excited to get to host a giveaway with Spapology, THE place to have a LEGO party in Montgomery, AL. Don't worry, if you aren't near Alabama's capitol city (we aren't either) you can win a LEGO® brick set of the Snapology Mascot, Sebastian Gator, details will be at the bottom of the post, but first I want to tell you a little bit about how awesome we think the Snapology concept is and why we decided to share and host this giveaway!

We recently attended and hosted two birthday parties with a LEGO® theme. As part of the parties, the kids used legos for fun and of course, the birthday boys got tons  LEGO® sets as gifts. Those parties are coming soon to the blog, so be on the look out!

During the course of these parties, other moms and I had several discussions about being in that stage of boy-mom-hood where there are always tiny little bricks everywhere! Now, we know that can be difficult, especially for our feet and the shag rug, but it can also be so enriching for our children! One of my sisters is a homeschool mom and she shared with us about how she integrates  LEGO® building and other STEM activities like Minecraft into her homeschool curriculum. I also loved this article about homeschool learning with LEGO. As you can see here in some of the photos we've shared here, Snapology is not just all about LEGO® building, but they are using robotics, as well as, other resources to go beyond just the bricks to integrate art, science, technology, engineering, and math into education through play.

Children as young as preschool can use LEGOs to learn basic life skills they'll need, from language development and early math and science skills to problem-solving and creative exploration. Even at Ezra's age now, we are using LEGO Duplos to work on color identification, matching, counting and so many other things, but to him, it's just fun playtime engaging with big brother, mom, and dad. It's a win for everybody!

I encourage you to check out Snapology and find out if there's a location near you! We'd love to have a LEGO® party in Montgomery if we could! Come to Mississippi, Snapology! =) Parents, look into these summer camps! What an awesome experience that would be to keep the kids stimulated throughout the summer.

  10. Learning through play opens the child's imagination, allowing them to be creative. Creativity is one thing new generations are losing. We need to keep the playing going, keep those pathways open.
