St. Patrick's Day!Thursday, March 17, 2016
My two little lucky charms wore the shirts I made them today to school and were so good to take a picture for me before they left for school this morning!
This is pretty much the extent of our St. Patrick's Day celebration this year. I may have something for lunch called and Irish Taco.. not too sure what that is or how Tacos can be Irish.. anyway. I'll let you know how that goes. =)
In case you were curious here are some great articles on the What, When, How and Why of St. Patrick's Day from the History.com!
My favorite legend of St. Patrick is how, while a missionary in Ireland, he explained the Trinity to the Irish people by plucking a shamrock (three leaf clover) from the ground and explained that like the shamrock, God is one and three at the same time. Each part of the Shamrock represented the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, but they were all one just like the shamrock is one leaf.
So, I will leave you with an Irish blessing that I hope makes your day a little brighter!
May the road rise up to meet you.May the wind always be at your back.May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again,May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
