Snickers Cheesecake Ball #BigGameTreats

It has been a super exciting year for sports around here, but with a new baby we have done most of our cheering from the living room. I have to say though, as much as a love the rush of the crowd, the roar of the stadium, and eating gourmet meals under a tent, being at home can be just as fun! This is especially true when you have tiny ones in tow. So, to send football season out with a bang (literally) we decided to throw a little Football and Fireworks Party on New Years Eve. Hope you find lots of ideas if you'll be homegating for the big game!

One reason I really love hosting small, casual get-togethers, is the food. I love party food. All the dips and sauces and creative things your can do to make a party special! So, I want to share a couple of the fun things I made for our Football and Fireworks Party, like this SNICKERS® Cheesecake Ball! It only has 3 ingredients and can be made a day ahead. I mean come on, how much more simple can it get!?

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese (softened)
2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup SNICKERS (chopped)

You will also need a large bowl and plastic wrap.

Instructions
1. Mix SOFTENED cream cheese and powdered sugar (add powdered sugar gradually while stirring)
2. Fold in 1/2 cup chopped SNICKERS until mixed evenly throughout
3. Spoon the mixture into plastic wrap, form a ball, place in freezer for 1-2 hours.
4. Place the rest of your chopped snickers into a large bowl.
5. Remove mixture from freezer and roll in bowl of Snickers to cover the outside on all sides. Fill in any holes with left over snickers from bowl.** For this Party, while the mixture was still in plastic, I shaped it into an oval, Football shape before rolling it in Snickers.
6. Refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
7. Serve with Graham Crackers or fruit. I love the apple slices. They are easy to dip, you can buy them pre-cut and caramel, chocolate and nuts just go really well with apples!

We also had BBQ Chicken Sliders that I made in the slow cooker while at work, corn dip, veggies and hummus. We picked up everything at Walmart a few nights before, sent a few texts to friends to pick up the Fireworks and Beverages, and I went on a mission to add some sparkle to our table and noise makers to our kids hands.

While on the candy getting the SNICKERS for our cheesecake ball, I had the husband grab another of his favorite candies, Skittles! I thought it would be fun to add a little fun to the kid's (and the kids at heart) drinks! It's a a game, science experiment, and entertainment all wrapped into a little candy and a little sprite. We encouraged the kids to choose team colors for the big game, but really they just kept trying colors they like!

How To Make a Skittles Sparkler:

Just drop a skittle or two (or three or four) into a Sprite filled clear party cup and watch it bubble. Within 2 minutes your sprite will be the color of your skittles! More skittles = more color.

Enjoy!

Win or lose we had a great time and I'm pretty sure the kids did too. Thanks to our friend Alex for shooting some great fireworks during halftime and my husband for building us a little bonfire. Let's do it again! Maybe for the next big game?

I've shared my my game day dessert recipe with you! I'd love to hear what you plan on making for the Big Game! Leave a comment below.
