A Season of Hope - Behind the Camera and Dreaming

A Season of Hope

Sunday, December 23, 2012

I received this star to hang in my home this Holiday Season.

I was asked to share my story of a star in my life and something that is personal to me inspired by this handcrafted piece of art.
This star represents a great movement in the country of haiti. After the most recent tragedy and so many Americans affected by Hurricane Sandy, we know a little more about how it feels to regroup and start over after a natural disaster, but for haitians  it's a little different. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere but it seems there are still stories, as with every tragic situation, of great hope.

Much like the star that shown so brightly on that night. The night our savior was born.

A few months back I joined a small group of women in an online bible study, led by my friend Branson. Truly, it has changed my perspective. Daily, I'm reminded of the true grace I have been given and because of that grace, I have hope. Isn't that what Christmas really is all about? Hope for the future.

Joining in with a group of people with a central purpose can be powerful. I have never been so blessed with so many replies after just requesting a single short prayer. I look forward to the tags and posts each morning on instagram (@stephaniesclark) and I feel a sense of support even without seeing these ladies face to face.

I truly feel like I've found close friendships within this group. Ladies with babies about the same age as mine, people who have been through similar experiences and don't mind sharing.

These things keep my days a little bit brighter. I sent my second star to this special lady. Not because I think she'll really want it, but because I really do believe that she is a bright light in my sometimes dreary world. She's praying for me when I don't even know what I need praying for.

I love the communication and connections one simple comment on a blog can bring. Lifetime friendships are formed, grown, and flourished in this little box. So, basically the pressure is on ;)
