Edit Me 14 and Inspiration (or lack there of)

Thursday, August 18, 2011

This week's Edit me #14 is from guest judge is Amy! Here's her original photo:

I have to admit that I was totally uninspired this week when it came to editing this photo. It had nothing to do with the photo or the challenge. I just could not figure out what I wanted to do with this one! It's such a cool shot. I like the framing and the colors were what made the picture to me..so no black and white. I then thought this photo is perfect for adding a texture...so I tried that and tried again and tried again. I just wasn't feeling it.

So, when that happens, what do YOU do? Last week, I gave the suggestion to browse through LR presets and that usually works for me! Thanks Kathryn by the way for using that as inspiration for this week. I just couldn't find something that said THIS IS IT!

Finally, I ended up using CS5 only and running actions - no manuel editing expect adjusting layers- until I got a look I liked. Then, since I just started using some Kim Klassen textures I decided to add one of those AND I really like how it turned out!

I used Paint the Moon's: Peaches 'n Cream Pop, Lighten It Up,
and Pop It on the Spot (using the brush only on the boat and the blue building).
Then I added Kim Klassen's Free Texture: Water Stained Paper on Multiply blending mode at 50%.
That's it!
What do you think of how it turned out?

PS. I'm judging in two weeks and I can't wait! I hope you guys can find inspiration in the photo I submitted!

  3. A good website is almost a necessity even for small business. The online world has much power to provide you tons of costumers that will push your business in to success. It’s is not very hard to do, you just need to know how.

I love the communication and connections one simple comment on a blog can bring. Lifetime friendships are formed, grown, and flourished in this little box. So, basically the pressure is on ;)
