New Blog and Edit Me! - Behind the Camera and Dreaming

New Blog and Edit Me!

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Summer is officially in FULL swing! Which apparently means rain rain and more rain. Don't get me wrong we need it, but it just makes everybody so lathargic. I need sunshine! =)

I officially have a new look on my blog! For those who read only in reader...go check it out! OR check out this post on i{heart}faces today. It shows you how to use Google Reader and be able to see the beautiful blogs we all work so hard on and not just see reader text each day.

  • At the top you will find buttons for facebook, twitter, and rss feed. These are much easier to fine now - so follow me on twitter or friend me on facebook (if we aren't pals already!)
  • Under the header you will find a navigation bar.
    •  this will allow you to go HOME (which will take you to the main blog and most recent post)
    • ABOUT will tell you all about me, us, and this blog! btw it needs to be updated!
    • SHOP will take you to my new etsy shop - which is still under construction. I will be adding some more editing services and photographs in the {near} future.
    • PHOTOGRAPHY will take you to Gray Mornings portofolio site - you can also contact me about scheduling a session through that link!
    • Click CONTACT and you can email me directly!
  • On the right side of the page you can "grab a button" or  follow Behind the Camera and Dreaming via Google Friend Connect - if you have a google account you can do this very easily AND it lets me know you've come by and gives me the opportunity to check out your blog! Which I LOVE!

Later tonight I will be posting TONS of photos from a special little guys first birthday and maybe some father's day photos too! So, come back!!! But first, I skipped last week but I really wanted to participate in Edit Me this week. Branson has been doing such a great job with this over the past 6 weeks!

My Reflection of Something

Here's this week's photo:

This week's guest judge is Vic from A Cup of Freck.

So this week I didn't know exactly what to do with this photo. The details are really cool in the original, so I cropped it to show that. Then, after cleaning it up and color correcting in LR I took it over to CS5 where I decided to play with the artistic filters. I used the "pallette knife" with storke size 7, stroke detail 3, and softness set at 2. I hardly every play with those functions but I wanted something different. Turns out this is the perfect kind of photo for that! I learned something today! =)

I love the communication and connections one simple comment on a blog can bring. Lifetime friendships are formed, grown, and flourished in this little box. So, basically the pressure is on ;)
